Crestron Digital Media Installation - NW1

Well the Digital Media installation is progressing well - the rack is built and TVs are in the main on the walls. We've gone for the LG range of LCD TV (47",32" and a 26") and in initial tests they look pretty good. We've gone for a 50" Panasonic plasma in the Home Cinema so it will be interesting to see how the two compare in side by side tests.
The new Satellite dish was installed on Wednesday picking up channels from the Gulf.
The Electricians also finished on Wednesday leaving us to commission the system.
The only negative of the week has been our shiny new mobile phones havent arrived yet so pictures and updates are thin on the ground.

Next Week should see high definition audio and video beamed around the home and the Axis IP CCTV cameras installed. Initial tests on the Axis look superb - the M3011 camera looks like a low voltage down lighter yet has a resolution similar to a computer display! Very discreet yet extremely detailed pictures. The Kaleidescape Mini server should also arrive early next week so we will have a few HD sources to distribute and test with.

Where we are this week

This week we are mainly working on our latest project - a large digital media installation in Marleybone, NW1. The project is just coming to the end of the cabling stage so we'll try and get some pictures of the installation as it happens.
Satellite is due to be installed on Wednesday giving access to the Hotbird satellite at 13 degrees east - allowing TV feeds from around the Gulf.
Air-conditioning should be commissioned next week allowing us to install our LON interface for full control.
Early next week should also see the home cinema being finished in addition to all the TV's on the walls.
Decorator starts on Thursday to repaint after the cabling installation.

It's all coming together!

P.S. Dave G is also making some enhancements to the Beetham Tower Penthouse allowing swimming pool temperature adjustments and the addition of a holiday mode to lower heating setpoints to save energy when the clients are away.

iPhone control of a Crestron Home

Please see the video below for our, very well received, iPod control of a Crestron whole house system. The iPhone can be used to control lights in addition to controlling a Kaleidescape DVD server.
